Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Baton Rouge is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead milieu management and direct patient care for adults and seniors with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. The role includes medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in the state of employment.
• Valid compact licenses are acceptable where applicable.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead milieu management and direct patient care activities for nursing staff.
• Assess patients using the nursing process to formulate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications safely and provide education on prescribed therapies.
• Document patient symptoms, responses, and progress accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, state regulations, and hospital policies.
• Maintain professional development, continuing education and licensure.
• Float among clinical services as needed and support staff as assigned.
