Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a state board-approved nursing school.
• Currently licensed in Iowa as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• This is an hourly position, which means you must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays as required/needed.
• Exceptional attendance.

Responsibilities

• Communicate resident needs with physicians and supervisors.
• Complete resident assessments and supervise LPNs.
• Administer medications and treatments responsibly.
• Accurately administers all medications, treatments, and physician orders; taking ultimate responsibility for resident care.
• Confers with the Director of Nursing on ongoing special problems of care, transfers, workload, etc.
• Coordinates preparation and planning of resident admission; recognizing the contribution of family and others.
• Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents, and emotional support to families.
• Supervises, assists, consults with and teaches certified nursing assistants.
