Job summary

Birchwood Rehabilitation and Heathcare Center in Nanticoke, PA seeks a dynamic full-time RNAC to join our skilled nursing facility. Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 2 years RNAC experience in a long-term care setting.
• Experience with MDS coding and reimbursement processes preferred.
• Strong leadership, training and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of MDS coding to maximize reimbursement for the care delivered.
• Maintain accurate clinical paperwork to support documentation and billing.
• Serve as Nursing Educator and primary trainer for the nursing department.
• Act as Nurse Management member to influence patient-centered outcomes within the unit.
• Manage case management and coordination with payers and social workers.
• Take joint ownership of care conferences and related duties.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

The Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) would:

• Ensure accuracy of all sections of Multiple Data Set (MDS) coding to maximize company reimbursement consistent with the levels of treatment delivered and required for appropriate patient / resident care (CMI).
• Ensure accuracy of clinical paperwork (assessment and accompanying documentation) to maximize company reimbursement consistent with the levels of treatment delivered and required for appropriate patient / resident care.
• Nursing Educator: - Serve as a primary trainer to the nursing department to ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and thorough. This requires high levels of in-person interfacing with both residents and employees.
• Nurse Management: Serves as a key member of the nursing leadership team to clinically manage the unit in order to maximize patient-centered outcomes. This includes engagement in leadership standups and influence within interdisciplinary teams.
• Case management w/ managed care (maximize therapy and nursing services provided to residents in order to maximize patient-centered outcomes)
• Manage clinical and financial record keeping and dissemination of these records to appropriate payers.
• Take joint ownership of care conferences with social workers
• Perform other duties as required.
