Job summary

AHN in Center Township Medical Neighborhood, Monaca, PA, seeks an operating room registered nurse to participate in all aspects of patient care. The RN will apply current nursing processes, collaborate with health care teams, and ensure high-quality care for patients and families in the OR and related areas.

Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with PA RN licensure and BLS; 1-2 years OR experience; strong communication and stamina for long procedures and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
• 1-2 years Operating Room experience.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the operating room and procedure areas.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff.
• Document patient care and maintain patient safety.
• Support daily PRN schedule and shift coverage.

Location: Center Township Medical Neighborhood 79 Wagner Road Monaca, PA 15061
Work Hours: PRN Monday-Friday daylight hours

The Operating Room Registered Nurse participates in all areas of patient care. The nurse utilizes a high-quality standard of care and nursing processes consistent with current practice and updated knowledge to collaborate with other health care disciplines, encompassing the needs of the patient and family.

REQUIRED

Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure; 1-2 years Operating Room, Procedure Room experience; BLS

1. Analytical ability necessary to make sure that procedures/operations are completed ensuring maximum nursing care/support is rendered to the patient, the operating room staff, anesthesia staff and the surgeons at all times.
2. The interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients/families, surgeons and to cooperate with the other nurses and administration in the delivery of patient care.
3. Emotional/mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under daily pressure of stressful or emergency situations.
4. Physical ability necessary for almost constant standing, walking, and lifting. A high level of stamina also necessary for the frequent transportation of patients and the carrying of supplies and equipment.

PREFERRED

ACLS Certification, PALS if applicable, Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
