Job summary

Heritage Valley Health System in Monaca, PA is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team. This role provides high-quality patient care in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff to support safe outcomes.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current Pennsylvania licensure, 1–2 years OR/procedure room experience, and BLS certification. ACLS/PALS/CNOR are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania licensure.
• 1–2 years Operating Room or procedure room experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of patient care in the operating room.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow perioperative protocols.
• Demonstrate professional communication with patients and families.

Location: Center Twp Medical Neighborhood, 79 Wagner Road, Suite 101

Work Hours: 5 Days/40 hours per pay period

The Operating Room Registered Nurse participates in all areas of patient care. The nurse utilizes a high-quality standard of care and nursing processes consistent with current practice and updated knowledge to collaborate with other health care disciplines, encompassing the needs of the patient and family.

Required

Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure; 1-2 years Operating Room, Procedure Room experience; BLS

• Analytical ability necessary to make sure that procedures/operations are completed ensuring maximum nursing care/support is rendered to the patient, the operating room staff, anesthesia staff and the surgeons at all times.


• The interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients/families, surgeons and to cooperate with the other nurses and administration in the delivery of patient care.


• Emotional/mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under daily pressure of stressful or emergency situations.


• Physical ability necessary for almost constant standing, walking, and lifting. A high level of stamina also necessary for the frequent transportation of patients and the carrying of supplies and equipment.
