Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to lead and coordinate patient care within a dynamic hospital setting. You will utilize the nursing process to plan and deliver care, delegate tasks, and educate patients and families while collaborating with physicians and the health care team.

The role requires Michigan RN licensure, BLS/ACLS as per policy, and ongoing certification where mandated.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic life support (BLS) or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) per policy.
  • Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in Michigan (e.g., Oncology Certified Nurse).

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality compassionate patient care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and families.

General Summary

  • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.

  • Demonstrates clinical competence.
  • May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation.
  • Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
  • Preferred experience in the specialty. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
Certifications/Licensures Required
  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.
  • Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
