Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Staunton, VA seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Crisis Therapeutic Home, delivering crisis nursing care to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. The role includes administering medications, nursing assessments, and educating individuals about physical and mental health.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to tailor care plans and ensure accurate documentation and safety.

Qualifications

• Current valid, unrestricted licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
• Experience in crisis prevention and behavioral health is preferred.
• Successful completion of required nursing assessments and documentation.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional visits.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and perform nursing assessments for adults with IDD and behavioral health needs.
• Educate individuals about physical and mental health and promote wellness.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop customized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure safety and compliance with clinical standards.
• Provide guidance to Behavior Technicians and LPNs as needed.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 7am - 3:00pm OR 3:00pm - 11:00pm.

Your Role in Our Mission:

• Make a real difference by providing compassionate nursing care to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs in our Crisis Therapeutic Home.


• Administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and ensure each individual receives the highest standard of care.


• Educate and empower individuals regarding their physical and mental health.


• Collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team to create personalized care and treatment plans.


• Ensure safety and compliance by maintaining accurate documentation and following all clinical standards.


• Play an essential role in promoting stability, recovery, and hope for those we serve.


• Provide guidance to Behavior Techs and LPNs as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• Licensure: Current valid, unrestricted licensed as a Registered Nurse in state of Virginia.


• Knowledge: MH and I/DD systems of care preferred.


• Experience: Crisis prevention and intervention services preferred.


• Transportation: A valid driver's license and car insurance for occasional transportation to appointments.
