Job summary

Pershing General Hospital and Nursing Home is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care to residents and patients in a critical access hospital and skilled nursing setting.

The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, administer medications, monitor status, and educate families. Strong collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to safety and compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of various emergency medical procedures, including CPR, intubation, wound care, and medication administration
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of medical equipment and technology (ventilators, defibrillators, monitors)
• Understanding ethical principles and legal regulations in healthcare

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and psychological conditions.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessments, diagnoses, and goals.
• Administer medications and IV therapies; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Regularly monitor vital signs and document results.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes; monitor healing.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, plans, medications, and self‑care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to coordinate care.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and rights.
• Maintain accurate medical records and progress notes.
• Implement infection control measures and safety protocols.
• Respond to emergencies and provide life‑saving interventions.
• Adhere to ethical and legal healthcare standards.
• Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
