Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop a plan of care for complex, multi-varianced populations of patients.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
  • Provide care that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
  • Manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.
  • Act as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families and co-workers.

About This Role

The Registered Nurse Acute (RN) in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive care to patients during labor and delivery, utilizing evidence-based practices in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about maternal and newborn health.

Highlights
  • Location: New Britain, CT
  • Facility: The Hospital of Central Connecticut
  • Schedule: Full Time, Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every 3rd weekend, every other holiday)
What You'll Do
  • Develop a plan of care for complex, multi-varianced populations of patients.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
  • Provide care that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
  • Manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.

Requirements
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Experience:
  • One year of experience with a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Connecticut.
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties.
