Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Alexandria, LA is seeking a competent Registered Nurse who practices independently in a similar clinical setting. The role provides routine and complex care, with ongoing development of long-range goals and contingency planning for patient care.

The RN will administer medications using approved protocols, document patient histories and care, and educate patients and families. Current ACLS and RN license are required; BLS is also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.

Education
