Summary

The Malcom Randall VA Health System is recruiting for a Licensed Registered Nurse. The Acute Care Units specialize in the medical/surgical care of a diverse patient population, including those with neurological, pulmonary, endocrine, hematologic, surgical needs, and cardiac disorders. These units also serve as an Epilepsy Center of Excellence and provide oncology services, including chemotherapy administration. All Acute Care Units are equipped with telemetry monitoring capabilities.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

1. English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless proficient in basic written and spoken English.
2. Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing by ACEN or CCNE at the time of completion.
3. Option for individuals in a master's level bridge program in nursing with coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree, pending licensure.
4. Possession of a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration for foreign nursing graduates, with degree validation if applicable.
5. Current license as a professional nurse in a U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
6. Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception for candidates pursuing licensure, with specific appointment conditions.

Physical Requirements: Visual acuity, hearing, speech, manual dexterity, ability to stand, stoop, sit, lift, wear protective attire, and transfer patients are required.

Duties
