Covenant Village Care Center in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift. Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and an active RN license are required; new graduates are welcome.

You will conduct patient assessments, administer medications, monitor treatments, document care in the EHR, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care around the clock.

Job Location: Covenant Village Care Center - Cincinnati, OH 45211, Position Type: Full-Time, Education Level: Associates Degree, Salary Range: $37.00 - $43.50 Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Night Shift - 12 hour

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Conduct thorough assessments of patient or resident health status, including physical, mental, and emotional health.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders, facility policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as needed, reporting any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare team members.

Clinical Procedures

• Perform clinical procedures such as wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and respiratory treatments in accordance with facility protocols and best practices.
• Provide patient and family education on medications, treatments, and lifestyle adjustments to promote health and wellness.
• Assist with diagnostic testing, monitor vital signs, and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities.

Medication Administration

• Safely administer medications and treatments, following the five rights of medication administration (right patient, right drug, right dose, right route, and right time).
• Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration and promptly report any adverse reactions or errors.
• Monitor and manage medications for patients with chronic conditions or complex medication regimens.

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR) or other required formats.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies related to patient care and documentation.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain and improve the standard of care.

Collaboration and Communication

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care.
• Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
• Participate in care conferences and team meetings to discuss patient progress, care plans, and any necessary adjustments.

Emergency Response

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing life-saving interventions such as CPR, airway management, and advanced resuscitation measures as necessary.
• Assist in stabilizing and transferring patients to higher levels of care when required.

Patient Advocacy

• Advocate for the rights and needs of patients, ensuring they receive respectful, compassionate, and person-centered care.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families, helping them navigate difficult health situations and decisions.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).

Licensure

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Experience

• Previous experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or acute care setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.
