Job summary

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Massachusetts is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 20-bed Transitional Care Unit. New grads welcome. PT 36 hours/week: 7a-7p and every other weekend.

The role includes supervising direct resident care, providing clinical supervision to CNAs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and timely documentation of orders and treatments. Requires MA RN license and BLS certification; geriatric nursing knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• Knowledge of geriatric nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates all direct resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary

• Ensures physician renewal orders and documentation are timely and appropriate
• Conducts resident rounds and reports problems to nursing supervisor
• Identifies resident problems and emergency situations and initiates life-saving measures within scope of practice
• Administers and documents medications and treatments per physician's orders

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Transitional Care Unit
Registered Nurse needed for our 20 bed transitional care unit
New Grads Welcome!
PT 36 hours/week: 7a-7p and every other weekend
Base Pay : $40.00-$44.00 per hour plus applicable diffs
Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervises and evaluates all direct resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary
• Provides clinical supervision of nursing assistants providing direct resident care
• Assumes responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned unit
• Ensures that all physician renewal orders and physician documentation is timely and appropriate
• Conducts resident rounds, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action
• Identifies resident problems and emergency situations, and initiates immediate "life saving" measures within the scope of nursing practice and in accordance with advance directives
• Administers and documents medications, enteral nutrition, and treatments per the physician's order and accurately records all care provided and observations daily

Prerequisites:

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing
• Current license in Massachusetts as RN
• Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing required
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards required
• Experience working in a Skilled Nursing environment a plus
