Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Transitional Care Unit (TCU) in Westborough, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a team recently recognized by US News & World Report for excellence in Transitional Care.

This casual shift runs every other Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM with a pay rate of $44.00–$47.00 per hour. The RN will supervise resident care, administer meds, ensure regulatory compliance, and support life-saving actions when needed.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in MA and graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Geriatric nursing knowledge required; Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates direct resident care; initiates corrective action as needed.
• Provides clinical supervision of CNAs delivering direct resident care.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the unit.

Casual –Every other Tuesday and every other Wednesday 3p-11p

PAY RATE $44.00-$47.00 an hour

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates all direct resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary.
• Provides clinical supervision of nursing assistants providing direct resident care
• Assumes responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned unit.
• Ensures that all physician renewal orders and physician documentation is timely and appropriate.
• Conducts resident rounds, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action.
• Identifies resident problems and emergency situations, and initiates immediate "life saving" measures within the scope of nursing practice and in accordance with advance directives.
• Administers and documents medications, enteral nutrition, and treatments per the physician's order and accurately records all care provided and observations daily.

Prerequisites

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing.
• Current license in Massachusetts as RN.
• Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing required.
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards required.
• Experience working in a Skilled Nursing environment a plus
