Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5 East Trauma unit. You will provide direct patient care, monitor cardiac status, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team on the Trauma step-down unit.

Qualified candidates hold Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and have trauma care experience; PRN requires 1 year of RN experience. The role includes rotating shifts and weekend/holiday considerations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current BLS for healthcare provider or within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct trauma unit nursing care on 5 East Trauma.
• Coordinate care with LPNs, PCNAs, and providers.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and cardiac monitoring.
• Assist with wound care, drains, and complex cases.

Bi-weekly Hours: 48 hrs

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Trauma

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV Insertion, cardiac monitoring, trauma care
• Various drains, complex wound care, psychosocial care
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN, Social Work

Number of beds on unit:

• 34 beds (14 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms)

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
