Mercy is seeking registered nurses in Missouri to join our Surgical 3B unit. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient-centered care, coordinating with multiple departments, and upholding patient rights and privacy.

Mercy offers a Nurse Residency Program tailored to the specialty area, with a year-long orientation for new grads and select experienced nurses. Shifts are 12 hours (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) with rotational weekends; both full-time and part-time positions are

Nurse Residency Available: Mercy Springfield offers a year-long Nurse Residency Program tailored to the specialty area in which each nurse is hired. All graduate nurses participate in the program, along with select experienced nurses based on their individual experience and professional development needs.

Position Details:

Nurses work 12-hour shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotational weekends.

Full Time and Part Time available.

Incentives:

• New Grad $5,000 Sign-on bonus for nightshift only
• 1-2 years’ RN experience Sign-on bonus $13,000 for nightshift only

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate or upcoming Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• Physical requirements/demands:
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Unit Information:

The Surgical 3B unit has 32 patient beds, with a nurse to patient ratio of 1-6 on days and nights. This unit is a fast-paced medical surgical telemetry floor which focuses on pre- and post-surgical patients, with a focus on GI, Urology and ENT surgeries. The Surgical 3B unit offers the opportunity to learn and perfect critical nursing skills such as:

• Head to toe assessments
• Telemetry monitoring
• NG tubes
• IV insertions
• CBI's
• Chest tubes, Trach and ostomy care
• Drains
• Wound Care
