Job Description
Weekenders must work every Fri, Sat, Sun. Increase hourly pay for WOW position. Coordinates and delivers patient care using the healthcare team philosophy practice model. Coordinates and does patient teaching and discharge planning. Coordinates activities with ancillary departments. Maintains standards of the department and the hospital. Reports to Nurse Manager or designee.

- Adheres to infection-control policies, medication procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Maintains compliance with organizational policies, practices, protocols, and professional standards.
- Handles confidential patient information in accordance with policies.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service aligned with the organization's Vision, Mission, and Values.
Essential Functions
- Provides optimal nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing patient care functions.
- Implements patient care plans and makes appropriate nursing assignments.
- Maintains standards of patient care and accurately implements physicians' orders.
- Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully.
- Ensures proper documentation and reporting.
- Prepares supplies and participates in safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supports infection-control policies and handles emergencies calmly.
- Participates in training, policy review, and performance improvement activities.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism.
Functional Demands
- Prolonged standing, walking, or sitting during shifts.
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Repositioning patients, reaching, bending, and other physical activities.
- Visual, auditory, and manual dexterity requirements.
- Ability to perform under stressful conditions and pass health screenings.
- Exposure to hazardous agents and infectious diseases with proper precautions.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum one year as an RN.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Skills: Ability to recognize patient needs, good judgment, communication skills, current CPR certification, willingness to rotate shifts, and work overtime if needed.
- Licensure: Current Mississippi State RN license.
