Job summary

IU Health is seeking experienced nurses and upcoming/recent RN graduates to join our Bloomington team. The 1W Acuity Adaptable Unit will deliver oncology-focused Med-Surg/Progressive Care, with a new 12-bed capacity and on-call rotations. A $30,000 sign-on bonus applies to part-time and full-time roles through 9/30/2026.

Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the 1W Acuity Adaptable Unit with oncology focus.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality nursing care.
• Adhere to unit standards and clinical policies.

The1W Acuity Adaptable Unitis a new 12-bed oncology-focused Med-Surg/Progressive Care unit at Bloomington Hospital, opening in early summer 2027. The unit is designed to accommodate varying levels of patient acuity while delivering specialized oncology care. Schedule includes one on-call shift every six weeks.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.


• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.


• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  
  
  
  • Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  
  


• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.


• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
