Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
• Three years of specialized, technical experience as a registered nurse practitioner.
• Alternate Education – RN12: master's in nursing or bachelor's in nursing with six months of RN P11 experience.
• Alternate Education – RN13: master's in nursing with one year of RN12, or bachelor's with 18 months RN P11, or bachelor's with one year RN12.

Job Summary

To assist the Medical Director as a healthcare practitioner under the scope of the Nurse Practitioner license. The individual must possess the skills and knowledge necessary to provide medical care to individuals with disabilities in a long-term care setting. This position involves medical assessments, performing medical procedures, and providing primary clinical therapy to members of the Michigan Veteran Homes (Grand Rapids or Chesterfield), focusing on a primarily geriatric resident population.

Locations

The position has openings at two locations: Michigan Veteran Homes, Grand Rapids and Michigan Veteran Homes – Chesterfield Township. Indicate your preferred location(s).

Education and Experience

• Education: Possession of a master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
• Experience: Three years of specialized, technical experience as a registered nurse practitioner.
• Alternate Education and Experience – Registered Nurse 12: Possession of a master's degree in nursing or possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing and six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 may be substituted for the experience requirement.
• Alternate Education and Experience – Registered Nurse 13: Possession of a master's degree in nursing and one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse 12; or, possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing and eighteen months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11; or, possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing and one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse 12 may be substituted for the experience requirement.
