Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking an RN for Medical‑Surgical care on night shifts (7p–7a) in a full‑time role. The hospital offers a New Grad Residency Program, hands-on training, and dedicated preceptor support to build confidence and clinical skills.

You will deliver direct patient care, perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate care in an acute setting. Current RN license and BLS are required; ACLS preferred with 30 days to obtain.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certification required on hire; maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire; maintain current (preferred).
• BSN preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for assigned Medical‑Surgical patients.
• Perform ongoing assessments and monitor patient condition and response to treatment.
• Communicate changes in condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology to physicians.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per orders.
• Provide patient and family education and guide nursing support staff.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, patient‑centered care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) within the Medical‑Surgical unit. Responsibilities include direct patient care, care coordination, and clinical assessment in an acute care environment.
