Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical unit on the nights shift (7p–7a, 12-hour shifts). New graduates welcome, with a structured residency program, hands-on training, and dedicated preceptor support to build confidence and clinical skills.

The RN will provide safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process in a busy acute care environment, focusing on direct patient care, care coordination, and clinical assessment, with emphasis

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate upon hire and current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and current (preferred).
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for assigned Medical-Surgical patients.
• Perform ongoing assessments and monitor patient condition and response to treatment.
• Communicate changes in condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology to physicians.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per orders.
• Provide patient and family education and guide nursing support staff.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
