Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Medical-Surgical unit in Lewiston, ME. This full-time position requires night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a focus on providing safe, patient-centered care. We welcome new graduates and offer a New Grad Residency Program with hands-on training. Candidates must have a valid RN License, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Preferred qualifications include acute care experience and ventilator management. Competitive sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire; maintain current and preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for assigned Medical-Surgical patients.
• Perform ongoing assessments and monitor patient condition and response to treatment.
• Communicate changes in condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology to physicians.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per orders.
• Provide patient and family education and guide nursing support staff.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, patient‑centered care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) within the Medical‑Surgical unit. Responsible for direct patient care, care coordination, and clinical assessment in an acute care environment.
