Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Managed Care seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care at the Fort Stockton-Lynaugh Unit. You’ll assist with treatment plans, administer medications, perform health assessments, and document care in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Texas or eligible transfer.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• NCLEX-RN passed (first attempt preferred).
• No specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and support treatment plans.

• Perform health assessments and document in EMR.
• Prepare equipment for examinations and procedures.

As aRegistered Nurse, you will be an essential part of our healthcare team, delivering direct patient care, assisting with treatment plans, and ensuring the well-being of those you serve. Your responsibilities will include administering medications, performing health assessments, and contributing to a dynamic and purpose-driven workplace.

• Responsible for providing care to patients at the Fort Stockton-Lynaugh Unit.
• Administers medications as ordered, adheres to facility policy and procedure of medication administration and will maintain knowledge of appropriate dosages, reactions and contraindications of medications.
• Communicates patient data using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support decision-making to improve patient care.
• Prepares and operates necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assists in completing required documentation for incoming/outgoing patients including obtaining accurate patient histories.
• Inspects and monitors equipment; inspects and ensures maintenance of patient care areas, equipment and supplies, and medication refrigerator.
• Serves as a relief charge nurse when needed, delegating tasks to lower level nursing staff.
• Communicates with Physicians or Advanced Practice Providers as needed, and calls report when transferring patients to another unit or hospital. Notifies provider(s) of any significant incidents.

• Competitive Pay – Earn a strong salary plus shift differential:
  • Weekend Differential: +$3/hr on weekends

License/Certification:

Current RN License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of nursing within 120 days of applying for a position. Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program. New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX- RN) on the first attempt.
