Job summary

Vernon Health and Living in Wabash, IN is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our pediatric and adult long-term care team. You will lead a shift, provide direct nursing care, administer meds, and coordinate plans for residents, with a supportive team and flexible scheduling.

You will supervise LPNs and CNAs, communicate with families and physicians, and ensure quality care while maintaining compliance with standards. Indiana RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Long-term care or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and respond promptly.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and skilled procedures.
• Supervise and delegate to LPNs and CNAs on your shift.
• Communicate with residents, families, and attending physicians.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in care planning, MDS, and quality improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility standards.
