Job summary

Vernon Health and Living in Wabash, IN is seeking a caring Certified Nursing Assistant to join our pediatric and adult long-term care team. You will provide hands-on personal care, assist with daily routines, and be the heartbeat on the nursing floor.

Qualifications

• Current, valid CNA license in the state of practice (Indiana).
• Completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide Training program.
• BLS/CPR certification preferred.
• Long-term care experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Genuine compassion for elderly and medically complex residents.
• Reliable, punctual and a strong team player.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing and oral hygiene.
• Help residents with meals, hydration and feeding as needed.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation and repositioning.
• Obtain and document vital signs, weights, and intake/output.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nurse.
• Respond to call lights quickly and with a caring attitude.
• Follow care plans, infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Document care provided accurately each shift.
