Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department is seeking Registered Nurses for full-time, 12-hour shifts (Day, Mid, Night). This hiring event includes virtual and onsite interviews, with manager interviews through July 29. Apply today to begin the process.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• CEN preferred.
• ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire, TNNC within 12 months of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, triage patients using established clinical protocols.
• Provide emergency nursing care and life-saving interventions.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies as ordered.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to the team.
• Assist with emergency procedures and trauma care.
• Operate and monitor emergency and life-support equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians and EMS.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and discharge plans.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides rapid, high-quality nursing care to patients with acute illness, injury, and life‑threatening conditions in a fast‑paced Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, prioritize, and triage patients using established clinical protocols.
• Provide emergency nursing care, treatments, and life‑saving interventions.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies as ordered.
• Monitor patient condition, interpret clinical findings, and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, diagnostic testing, and patient stabilization.
• Operate and monitor emergency and life‑support equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive clinical outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire, Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required
