Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center is hosting an RN Hiring Event with on-site interviews for full-time RN positions across Day, Mid, and Night shifts in a fast-paced Emergency Department. Eligible candidates can receive a sign-on bonus up to $15,000.

Strong focus on rapid, high-quality acute care and collaboration with the ED team. Requirements include an active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 1+ year acute care experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
  • Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
  • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
  • EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, prioritize, and triage patients using established clinical protocols.
  • Provide emergency nursing care, treatments, and life-saving interventions.
  • Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies as ordered.
  • Monitor patient condition, interpret clinical findings, and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, diagnostic testing, and patient stabilization.
  • Operate and monitor emergency and life‑support equipment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
