Job summary

Nixon-Smiley CISD is seeking a campus-based Registered Nurse to maintain a comprehensive health services program at Nixon High School. You will manage student health records, provide individual care, and support health education on campus.

The role requires state-registered nursing practice in Texas, vision and hearing screening certification, CPR certification, and at least two years of nursing experience in community or educational settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
• Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nursing Examiners.
• Certified by the Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening.
• CPR certified.

Role And Purpose

To maintain a comprehensive program of health services for the campus, while providing individual health services to campus students. Position located on the Nixon High School Campus. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

• Promote campus health education programs
• Develop and implement preventative health practices for students

Experience

Special Comments

This position is eligible for a stipend of up to $4,000 each school year (must meet qualifications).

The "Min & Max Starting Salary" is based on the market value of a similar position and the number of years of working experience* as an RN, e.g., Base Salary/202 Contract Days/Est. hrs./day= est.$/hr.

• Note: per School Board approval (March 29, 2006), "School nurses will earn one year of school credit for every two years of RN experience and three years of LVN experience".
