Job summary

Alvin ISD seeks a registered nurse to implement a comprehensive campus health services program, promoting health and safety, and providing case management for students. The nurse will collaborate with families, teachers, and staff to support student learning and well-being.

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, Texas RN license, CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and state-approved vision and hearing screening credentials.

Qualifications

• Two years of nursing experience preferred, ideally in school or community health.
• Experience in program implementation and case management is desirable.
• Ability to maintain electronic health records and coordinate with school staff.

Job description

Primary Purpose:

Implement a comprehensive program of health services for the campus. Promote health and safety; provide case management; and collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
• Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners
• CPR/ AED/First Aid certification
• Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening
• Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment screening certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to implement policies and procedures
• Maintaining electronic health records

Experience:

Preferably Two years of nursing experience, preferably in school or community health
