Job summary

WOMEN Obstetrics & Gynecology in Nashville seeks a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to support NSTs and in-office procedures. You will provide high-quality, individualized care, take vitals, assist physicians, and educate patients within a collaborative team environment.

Ideal candidates have TN RN licensure, BLS, and 1+ year experience in Women's Health or OB/GYN settings; Athena EMR knowledge is a plus. This full-time role emphasizes comprehensive patient care and coordination.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current State of Tennessee RN License.
  • BLS certification.
  • At least one year of working experience as an RN.
  • Women's Health experience required, either in a physician office or hospital setting.
  • One year of OB/GYN experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Athena EMR is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and monitors non-stress tests (NSTs) and provides nursing support for in-office procedures in accordance with physician direction and established protocols.
  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians; takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, ensures medical chart/lab test results are available and complete.
  • Uses a team approach to develop and achieve daily patient-centered individualized care goals.
  • Acknowledges and values the contributions of the patients’ significant others as an integral part of the plan of care
  • Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions
  • Administers immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed; records and documents all such activities in the chart
  • Assists physician with patient examinations, diagnostic tests and/or procedures
  • Cleans and stocks all patient examination rooms; cleans and prepares instruments for procedures; keeps list of needed medical supplies
  • Completes paperwork such as ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc.
  • Counsels patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
  • Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
  • Coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient

Overview

WOMEN Obstetrics & Gynecology, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team!

As an experienced practitioner, the Registered Nurse is accountable for providing high quality, individualized, goal directed care for all patients and their families through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.

The primary focus of this role will be supporting non-stress testing (NST) and in-office procedures.
