Job summary

The American College Health Association in Malibu, CA seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate and implement back-office nursing duties within the university clinic. Reporting to the Medical Director, the RN ensures compliance with regulatory mandates while delivering patient-centered care.

Requirements include a CA RN license, Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nursing with 2 years’ related experience, and AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience.
• Valid, unrestricted California Board of Registered Nursing license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
• Nursing duties to include phlebotomy, immunizations, injections, ear lavage, bandaging, splinting.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical medical information into understandable formats for patient care.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to maintain professionalism amidst competing demands.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise cultural competency, good judgment, and strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• The Registered Nurse must have a personal faith in Jesus Christ, active involvement in a local church, and demonstrate support for the Christian mission of the University-seeking to help students develop lives of purpose, service, and leadership.
• Working knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, nursing/case management theory, nursing protocols, medical procedures, and standard charting practices.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a skilled healthcare professional who coordinates and implements a variety of medical back-office duties and procedures. Reporting directly to the Medical Director, the RN serves as the first line of support for practitioner staff and is responsible for the professional and efficient daily operation of the medical clinic’s back office. The RN ensures that county, state, and federal medical office mandates are implemented in collaboration with providers and staff, delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care while actively supporting the University’s Christian mission.
