Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Registered Nurse for the High Desert Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Lancaster, CA. On-call shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with responsibilities overseeing nursing care and supervising staff to ensure timely evaluations and medication support.

The role includes on-the-job training, paid CEUs, and opportunities for professional growth within a 24/7 urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid California RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current First Aid certification.
• Valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing duties and related activities for clients.
• Supervise nursing department staff on assigned shift.
• Coordinate medication administration and safety checks.

Education

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications) :

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current CPR Certification
• Current First Aid Certification
• Valid California Driver’s License

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience

• One (1) year of experience in a mental health care setting working with seriously emotionally disturbed children, adolescents, and adults preferred
• One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to successfully pass the facility Medication Test

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The Registered Nurse is the treatment team member who is responsible for overseeing all nursing duties and related nursing activities for clients. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for the supervision of the nursing department staff assigned to their respective shift.

Division/Program Overview:

• Facility & Setting: 24/7 walk-in outpatient urgent care
• Clinical Services Rapid mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication support
• Length of Stay: Short-term stabilization (up to 24 hours)
• Population Served: Serves up to 12 adults (18 + ) and 6 adolescents (ages 13-17)
