Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Lancaster, CA is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for the High Desert Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center. Shifts are Fri and Sat from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a starting pay of $28–$30 per hour.

A comprehensive benefits package is included. The LVN/LPT will administer medications, monitor clients, document observations, and coordinate with the RN and attending physician to ensure safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• Must hold California LVN or LPT license.
• Minimum 1 year inpatient mental health care experience.
• Minimum 1 year of medication administration experience.
• Valid California driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care including medications.
• Maintain milieu to support quality client care and safety.
• Observe, document, and report patient condition to RN/physician.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications per physician orders.
• Write shift summaries and coordinate nursing activities as assigned.

Maintains vigilance over the general milieu within the facility to facilitate quality client care, optimum facility operations and preserve the safety of all therein. Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition of patients to the Registered Nurse in charge of the facility on the shift and the attending physician. Orders, prepares, administers and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physician’s orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication(s) from pharmacy on shift worked. Responsible for writing summary on clients as assigned.
