Job summary

The Gardens Rehab & Care Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to lead nursing staff, manage medications, and ensure high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting. Strong leadership, attention to documentation, and adherence to policies are essential for this full-time role.

Geared toward compassionate professionals, the role includes a $4,000 sign-on bonus and a 1-year commitment. Arizona license and CPR certification are required, with ongoing training and safety standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
• Current Arizona Nursing License or a license from a compact license state.
• Maintain CPR Certification.
• Receive the COVID-19 vaccine or exemption.
• Complete annual Tuberculosis Testing.
• Fulfill 12 hours of annual in-service training.
• Adhere to Nurse Practice Act and Board rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate care for residents and CNAs, ensuring seamless care.
• Manage medications, including controlled substances, with accountability.
• Maintain medication storage security and accurate documentation.
• Provide education and guidance to residents and staff.
• Conduct comprehensive rounds and ensure Care Plans are followed.
• Document thoroughly and report any errors to supervisors.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate care for residents and CNAs, ensuring a seamless and efficient care experience.
• Assume responsibility for all resident medications, including controlled substances, upholding the highest standards of accountability.
• Safeguard medication storage areas through diligent adherence to security protocols, ensuring residents' well-being.
• Foster a culture of education and knowledge for residents under your care, enriching their healthcare journey.
• Efficiently manage CNA assignments and delegate special tasks within the CNA scope of practice.
• Conduct comprehensive rounds for all residents, ensuring the faithful execution of Care Plans.
• Uphold physician orders, whether verbal or written, with meticulous attention to detail within your scope.
• Demonstrate precision in all aspects of your work, particularly in thorough and accurate documentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including medication administration records, treatment records, and nurse charting.
• Complete all assigned MDS assessments and provide detailed, truthful reporting.
• Promptly report any errors to the ADON/DON, fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
• Streamline the tracking of central supply items for each resident.
• Vigilantly report any witnessed or suspected abuse to the DON, ADON, or Administrator, safeguarding resident well-being.
• Provide "on-call" support to nursing staff as scheduled by the Administrator, ensuring seamless care delivery.
• Embrace the versatility of your role, tackling any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and dedication.

• Adhere to the Arizona State Board of Nursing Rules and Nurse Practice Act.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements

Must be able to bear weight and lift 100 pounds or more.

Requires constant physical activities including standing, walking, lifting, and bending, stooping, pulling, stretching, turning, grasping and reaching.

Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, thoroughness and quality of work assigned.

Aural acuity to receive detailed information through oral communication, often from persons with speech impairment.

Safety-sensitive position pursuant to A.R.S. 23-493.

Required Education, Experience and Training

• Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
• Current Arizona Nursing License or a license from a compact license state.
• Obtain/maintain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card at employee's expense.
• Maintain CPR Certification.
• Receive the COVID-19 vaccine or exemption.
• Complete annual Tuberculosis Testing.
• Fulfill the required 12 hours of annual in-service training.
• Mandated federal, state, and local communicable disease testing as required.
