Job summary

Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ is seeking a full-time or per-diem Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care under RN supervision. The hourly rate ranges from $42.50 to $47.50 with an additional $2.00 shift differential for nights and weekends.

The position supports residents in an assisted living and skilled nursing environment, with shifts 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm and schedule flexibility between every weekend or every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active license to practice as a registered professional nurse in New Jersey.
• Previous experience in a long term care facility or related health care setting.
• Knowledge of electronic charting is a plus.
• Must be able to work beyond normal hours and on weekends/holidays.
• Understand and care for the aging population.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate residents per policy and procedure throughout their stay.
• Review resident’s plan of care for goals, problems, interventions and revisions based on nursing needs.
• Coordinate nursing services to maintain resident’s total regimen of care.
• Administer medications and nursing services as ordered by physician.
• Complete and file charts during admission, transfer or discharge; review medication and treatment records.
• Document nurse notes reflecting care provided and resident responses.

Actors Fund Home, an assisted living, skilled nursing, accredited dementia care and sub-acute rehabilitation center located in Englewood, NJ, and a recipient of a CMS Five Star Rating is seeking Full Time or Per-Diem Registered Nurses (RN) to provide direct nursing care to our residents under the supervision of the RN Supervisor and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants.

JOB DUTIES

• Ensure all residents are assessed and evaluated as per policy and procedure throughout their stay
• Review resident’s plan of care for appropriate resident goals, problems, interventions / approaches and revisions based on nursing needs
• Coordinate nursing services to ensure resident’s total regimen of care is maintained
• Administer professional services such treatments as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/ bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags as required and as per facility’s policy and procedures
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physician
• Complete and file charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer and/ or discharge; review medication and treatment administration records for completeness of information
• Chart nurses notes in a descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident and resident’s response to care
• Ensure that the Nurse Call Alert System (call bell system) is answered promptly and monitored via cordless phones and digital displays
• Ensure all CNAs carry their cordless phones and tags; ensure all calls alerts are cleared by the nursing staff after attending to the resident
• Registered Nurses will be responsible for CNAs working on the unit
• Will be educated and become proficient in the Comfort Matters competencies to include knowledge, skills and abilities needed to provide person-centered care practice to residents with dementia.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of New Jersey required.
• Previous experience as a RN in a long term care facility or other related health care facility.
• Knowledge of electronic charting a plus.
• Tactful and courteous with residents, families, practitioners and others.
• Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  
• Have an understanding of, affection for, and a desire to work with the aging.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

This is an hourly position offering a range between $42.50/HR-$47.50/HR based in The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ. The current shift demands are inclusive of 7am-3:30pm & 3:00pm-11:30pm and scheduling needs are flexible between every weekend or every other weekend.
