Job summary

The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ is seeking a Full-Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide daily routine care and basic nursing tasks under supervision. The role requires adherence to care plans, attention to resident comfort, and punctual shift coverage.

Shifts are 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm, with every other weekend and potential for holiday coverage. Valid NJ CNA certification and a high school diploma are mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide care to residents in all aspects of personal care and hygiene.
• Assist residents with ADLs such as transfers, bathing, hygiene, grooming, toileting.
• Assist in treatments and examining residents when needed.
• Assist in arranging transportation and accompany residents to appointments.
• Assist residents in preparing for medical tests and collect specimens as needed.
• Participate in development and implementation of Care Plans.
• Answer call bells promptly and maintain privacy and dignity.
• Report changes or incidents to the nurse on duty.

Actors Fund Home , an assisted living, skilled nursing, accredited dementia care and sub-acute rehabilitation center located in Englewood, NJ, and a recipient of a CMS Five Star Rating seeksaFull time 3pm-11:30pmCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA).In this role, the CNA will be responsible for providing daily routine non-professional nursing care and basic technical nursing care under the direction and supervision of the professional nursing staff.

JOB DUTIES

• Provide care to residents in all aspects of personal care and hygiene; keep each resident clean, well-groomed and as comfortable as possible.
• Assist residents with their ADLs (activities of daily living), such as transfers, bathing, hygiene, grooming, toileting, etc.; encouraging self-help and independence wheneverpossible.
• Assist professional staff in rendering treatments and examining residents in isolation, dying or deceased.
• Assist in arranging transportation, reminding residents of appointments, accompanying residents to appointments or programs as needed.
• Assist residents in preparing for medical tests (i.e. lab work, x-ray, therapy, etc.) and collect specimens as instructed.
• Participate in the development and implementation of residents’ Care Plans.
• Answer all call bells promptly.
• Maintain residents' privacy and confidentiality; ensure that all residents are treated fairlyand with kindness, dignity and respect.
• Report all resident changes in condition or unusual findings as well as incidents and accidents promptly to the nurse on duty.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have an active NJ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and must maintain active certification.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Possess effective interpersonal skills in working with residents, co- workers, families and various health professionals.
• Be adaptable to change and able to meet crisis and emergencies.
• Ability to work independently and problem solve with minimal supervision.
• Must have an understanding of, affection for, and a desire to work with the aging.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to lift, move and carry supplies and equipment.
• Must be able to pass the facility’s physical examination upon employment and annually thereafter.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

This is aFull-Time (40 hours) hourly position paying $25.75/HR based at The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ. Shifts include 7am-3pm or3pm-11pm and working every other weekend. The successful candidate must be able to cover assigned shifts on a regular basis, including holidays, and should be available to cover vacations/call outs of other Certified Nursing Assistants on occasion.
