Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Telemetry Unit to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process. The role includes guiding patient family education and supervising other nursing staff while upholding high standards of care.

The position requires active RN licensure in Illinois, BLS and ACLS within stated timelines, and preference for Acute Care experience and ventilator management skills.

Competenze

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate on hire and maintain.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• RN-BC or similar certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Current and valid state RN License.
• 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• 4. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• 5. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• 6. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• 7. Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
