Job summary

Wexford Health Sources is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nueces County Jail in Corpus Christi, TX. This night-shift role focuses on delivering high-quality care within a correctional setting, coordinating with healthcare and jail staff to assess needs, administer medications, and shape treatment plans from start to finish.

You will mentor staff, respond to crises, and help ensure safety and standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted RN license in state of practice and 1-2 years of nursing experience (correctional experience preferred).
• Active CPR certification.
• Strong clinical and communication skills; adaptability in high-pressure settings.
• A compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental health needs of inmates; administer medications and guide treatment plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare and correctional staff to maintain safety and standards.
• Support patient education, timely referrals, and crisis response as needed.
