CodeAnalytiqa Consultancy and Services seeks an RN Assistant Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for Children’s Services. You will balance daily nursing operations with fiscal management, while elevating patient experience and staff engagement across Pediatrics, PICU, or NICU units.

The role requires a BSN, Maryland RN license, and at least 3 years of pediatric nursing and progressive leadership experience.

Job Summary

The RN Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) provides critical clinical and operational support to the Children’s Services Nurse Manager and staff. This dynamic leadership role focuses on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, elevating the patient experience, facilitating efficient patient throughput, and fostering high staff engagement. The ANM balances daily clinical operations with fiscal management and change initiatives.

Additionally, the individual must maintain basic nursing skills required by their specialty, demonstrating clinical, ethical, and legal competence in patient care. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager assumes full oversight and responsibilities for the assigned units.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Oversight: Maintain clinical competence in Pediatrics, PICU, or NICU environments to support frontline staff and ensure safe care delivery.
• Operations & Throughput: Oversee daily shift workflows, manage patient flow/throughput, and optimize unit resource allocation.
• Staff Engagement & Leadership: Act as a mentor and progressive leader by coaching staff, providing feedback, and boosting team morale.
• Quality & Patient Experience: Lead initiatives targeted at enhancing patient satisfaction, safety protocols, and positive clinical outcomes.
• Fiscal & Change Management: Support unit budgeting, manage operational costs, and effectively guide staff through clinical or organizational transitions.
• Unit Leadership: Assume full operational responsibility and leadership of the Children’s Services units when the Nurse Manager is absent.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Licensure: Current Maryland Registered Nurse License (or multi-state Compact RN license).
• Professional Engagement: Membership in a professional nursing organization is required/expected.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience within Pediatrics, PICU, or NICU settings.
• Proven progressive leadership experience required (e.g., charge nurse responsibilities, clinical precepting, or informal management roles).

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS): American Heart Association required upon hire.
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification: Required within 6 months of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Required within 6 months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required within 6 months of hire.
• Pediatric Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Course: Highly preferred.
