Job summary

United Surgical Partners International's Amarillo Endoscopy Center is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our team. The role supports endoscopy procedures in a 2-OR, 3-procedure setting with weekday only scheduling.

The RN must graduate from an approved nursing program, hold Texas RN licensure, and possess ACLS/BLS certification; strong communication is essential as is familiarity with endoscopy terminology and workflow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
• ACLS and BLS required.
• General familiarity with medical terminology for endoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients, equipment and room for Endoscopy procedures.
• Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures per SGNA guidelines.
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills in endoscopic procedures.
• Provides care in pre-operative holding, Endoscopy suite and PACU.
• Contacts patients to assess medical history and required tests.

Amarillo Endoscopy Center is hiring a Registered Nurse

USPI Amarillo Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our team. We have 2 OR room and 3 Procedure rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures inColon & Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

GI RN at Amarillo Endoscopy Center:

• Prepares patients, equipment and room for Endoscopy procedures.
• Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures per the SGNA guidelines. Specialized knowledge, experience and training is required for endoscope manipulation under the direction of the physician.
• Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
• Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for Endoscopy nursing care according to accepted standards.
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge of Endoscopy procedures and techniques.
• Provides multi-dimensional care for assigned patients. Includes patient care in the pre-operative holding area, care in the Endoscopy suite, and care for the patient in the PACU.
• Contact by way of telephone patients scheduled for endoscopy procedures to assess medical and medication history. Reviews with PAT nurse for any labs, x-rays, or EKG’s needed.
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in endoscopic procedures

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing
• Currently licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas
• General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and procedures for an endoscopy procedure room
• ACLS, BLS required
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
