Job summary

El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo is hiring a Registered Nurse GI to plan, execute, direct, and evaluate nursing care for endoscopy patients across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.

The role requires TX RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least one year of endoscopy/ambulatory experience. Weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, or call; some early mornings or evenings may be scheduled.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Must have TX state license to practice nursing in Texas.
• BLS and ACLS required (ACLS within 6 months of hire acceptable).
• CGRN board eligible or certified preferred for this GI/Endoscopy setting.
• One-year endoscopy/ambulatory experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties per the state Nursing Practice Act and facility policies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice for patient care.
• Provide routine nursing care with attention to age-specific needs and universal precautions.
• Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during procedures and report patient status.
• Communicate clearly with staff, patients, and families.
• Pursue ongoing educational opportunities to broaden clinical knowledge.
• Collaborate with Infection Control to prevent infections and promote safety.
• Support quality and service improvement initiatives.
• May perform additional tasks as assigned.

We have 1 OR room and 3 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

he Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to endoscopy patient. The nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention, intraoperative and postoperative evaluation while meeting the patient’s needs and ensuring continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
• Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
• Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
• Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout procedure process.
• Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
• Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
• Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
• May perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS required (must have current ACLS or achieve within 6 months of hire).
• CGRN board eligible/certified preferred.
