Job summary

USPI at El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo is hiring a Registered Nurse GI. The RN plans, executes, directs and evaluates nursing care for endoscopy patients across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative stages.

The role is weekdays only with some early mornings or late evenings; no holidays, weekends or on-call. Join a team dedicated to high-quality care and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Must have TX state nursing license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required (must have current ACLS or achieved within 6 months of hire).
• CGRN board eligible/certified preferred.
• One-year endoscopy/ambulatory nursing experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, direct and evaluate nursing care for endoscopy patients.
• Provide care across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes to ensure safety and comfort.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation and report patient progress.
• Seek continuing education to expand knowledge on age groups and best practices.
• Collaborate with Infection Control to prevent infections.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and safe clinical practices.

Welcome to El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo
We have 1 OR room and 3 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Registered Nurse GI at El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo

he Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to endoscopy patient. The nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention, intraoperative and postoperative evaluation while meeting the patient’s needs and ensuring continuity of care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
• Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
• Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
• Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout procedure process.
• Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
• Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
• Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
• May perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

BLS, ACLS required (must have current ACLS or achieve within 6 months of hire).
CGRN board eligible/certified preferred.
One-year endoscopy/ambulatory experience
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
