Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Abingdon Regional Jail in Abingdon, VA. The schedule runs 5am-5:30pm, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus to welcome dedicated clinicians to our correctional healthcare team.

You'll assess physical and mental health needs, administer medications, and guide treatment plans, while educating patients and collaborating with correctional staff to maintain safety and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted RN license in state of practice.
• Active CPR certification.
• Strong clinical and communication skills; adaptability in high-pressure settings.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse in our facility, you’ll do more than care for patients—you’ll lead, teach, and advocate. Working closely with healthcare and correctional staff, you’ll assess physical/mental health needs, administer medications, and guide treatment plans from start to finish. You’ll play a key role in supporting patient education, making timely referrals, and helping maintain safety and standards across the unit. Whether you’re managing medications, mentoring staff, or responding to a crisis, your skills will make a real impact every day.

What You’ll Need

• Active unrestricted RN license in state of practice and 1-2 years of nursing experience (correctional experience preferred).
• Active CPR certification.
