Qualifications

• Active Registered Medication Aide registration in Virginia
• Active Certified Nurse Aide certification in Virginia
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, patience, dependability, and genuine interest in caring for seniors
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Knowledge of medication administration and basic resident care procedures
• Ability to assist residents with personal care, mobility, and transfers
• Previous assisted living or memory care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Administer medications according to Virginia Board of Nursing regulations and facility policies
• Accurately document medication administration in the MAR
• Monitor and record vital signs, weights, and blood glucose as ordered
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting)
• Support mobility, ambulation, and transfers with approved equipment and safety techniques
• Provide compassionate care to residents with dementia and memory care needs
• Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to the care team
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, safety, and independence
• Collaborate with caregivers and healthcare professionals for quality care
• Follow procedures for safe medication administration and resident care

Position Overview

As a Registered Medication Aide and Certified Nursing Assistant, you will help residents maintain their dignity, comfort, safety, and quality of life. You will provide medication administration and hands-on personal care while supporting residents in our assisted living and memory care communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications in accordance with Virginia Board of Nursing regulations and facility policies.
• Accurately document medication administration in the Medication Administration Record.
• Monitor and record vital signs, weights, and blood glucose levels as ordered.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, and toileting.
• Support residents with mobility, ambulation, and transfers using approved equipment and proper safety techniques.
• Provide compassionate care to residents living with dementia, memory loss, and other age-related conditions.
• Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to appropriate team members.
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, safety, and independence.
• Collaborate with fellow caregivers and healthcare professionals to provide consistent, quality care.
• Follow established procedures for safe medication administration and resident care.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Medication Aide registration in good standing with the Virginia Board of Nursing.
• Active Certified Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the Virginia Board of Nursing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, patience, dependability, and a genuine interest in caring for seniors.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
