Job summary

TriHealth invites applications for Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician roles at our Cincinnati, OH laboratory. The positions involve performing a full range of tests, ensuring accuracy of results, and communicating findings to physicians.

Staff may work across multiple lab sections depending on needs. Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, have ASCP or AMT certification, and bring 1–2 years of clinical lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MLS or related field required.
• Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or Technology degree required.
• ASCP or AMT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of laboratory tests and confirm accuracy of results.
• Report laboratory findings to physicians and pathologists.
• Work in areas such as Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry, and Fibrinolysis.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and use the laboratory information system.
• Follow established policies and procedures and work under supervision while often working independently.

Work Schedule:

• Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly)
• Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical or Biological Science (Required)
• Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical or Biological Science (Required)
• 1 - 2 years’ experience clinical in a related field (Preferred)
• ASCP or AMT certification is required

Job Overview:

This position is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory tests, confirming the accuracy of test results, and reporting laboratory findings to the doctors, pathologists, or other physicians. This position may work in any of the major areas of the laboratory: Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry, and Fibrinolysis. This position operates and maintains a variety of laboratory instruments, utilizes the laboratory computer system in performance of duties, maintains strict adherence to established policies and procedures, and works under the supervision of a general supervisor, but works independently. Direct supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance, or result reporting. In addition to the direct supervisor, this position receives oversight from the Medical Director.
