Job summary

BJC Medical Group in Farmington, Missouri is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians and care teams. The MA will perform clinical duties including phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, vitals, and patient history documentation per practice protocols.

No call, no weekends, no holidays offer a favorable work-life balance. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED; CPR certification is preferred and some experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Cert/Reg in Area of Expertise is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate charting.
• Performs clinical skills such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triages calls, provides test and lab results to patients and presents information to providers with correct terminology.

Role Purpose

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides medical assistance under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider. This position performs select duties for the promotion of health in the care of patients and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient’s record.
• Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.
