Job summary

BJC Medical Group in Festus, Missouri, is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for outpatient care. The MA will support physicians with clinical duties, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and point-of-care testing, and maintain accurate patient records.

This position offers a 40-hour work week on day shifts, benefits eligibility, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus. No call, no weekends, and no holidays in this role. High school diploma or GED required, CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred; no experience accepted for entry-level.
• CPR certification required or obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare and stock exam rooms.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history; chart accurately.
• Perform clinical skills: phlebotomy, EKGs,POCT and injections.
• Triage calls and relay lab results to providers with proper terminology.

Role Purpose

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides medical assistance under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider. This position performs select duties for the promotion of health in the care of patients and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient's record.
• Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.
