Position Overview
CEFCU member service team members are critical to the success of the credit union. They provide a professional, knowledgeable, and caring experience when members contact us. This role assists financial advisors with customer service, trade placement, complex problem resolution, marketing, and other investment services functions. The member service team member maintains required licenses and provides the highest quality member experience for both internal and external members.
Responsibilities
- Assist financial advisors in customer service, trade placement, and complex problem resolution.
- Support marketing initiatives to increase member satisfaction and productivity of the Investment Services program.
- Perform discount brokerage functions and maintain required licenses and continuing education/training.
- Back‑up the Investment Services Support Team as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of administrative assistant or member service experience.
- Maintains Illinois Life/Health Insurance license and FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 and Series 66, or Series 7, 63, and 65, or Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses, and completes continuing education/testing requirements as needed to maintain professional licenses.
- Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and personal vehicle insurance.
- Fingerprinting and passing FINRA background checks.
- Signature of Broker‑Dealer’s Registered Representative Agreement including non‑solicitation clauses.
- Sales support experience in investment operations.
- Professional experience in securities and/or insurance industries.
- Knowledge of investment and retirement products.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Proven history of meeting or exceeding established sales, referral, and up‑sale goals.
- Community involvement through local events and professional organizations.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Pay Range
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $22.02 - $25.88 per hour. The pay range listed represents the anticipated starting range for a successful candidate. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at CEFCU.
