Job summary

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego in Hillcrest is seeking a casual per diem Dietitian to support LOA/PTO coverage and other department needs. This role is based at Scripps Mercy and may require coverage at other Scripps campuses as needed.

The Clinical Nutrition team delivers medical nutrition therapy to patients across ages, with a focus on individualized care and regulatory compliance. Weekend availability and adaptability to shift coverage are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in dietetics or related field
• Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Preferred CNSC, CDCES, CSR, CSO, or CSG certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Support LOA, PTO, and other department coverage as a casual dietitian
• Provide patient-centered nutrition care in an acute care setting as part of the Clinical Nutrition team
• Flexibility to work weekends and cover multiple Scripps campuses as needed

This is a casual (per diem) position based out of our Scripps Mercy campus in Hillcrest and will help support other Scripps Campuses as needed. The casual Dietitian helps support coverage for LOA's, PTO, and additional departmental needs. Flexibility to work weekends is required.

Our Clinical Nutrition team provides medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care to all patients utilizing technical skills in an acute care setting. Skills include clinical assessments, screening for nutritional risk, developing, implementing, and monitoring a nutrition care plan, education, and follow up. They provide service to patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Compliance to JCAHO Standards, Title XXII, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Demonstrates ability to provide appropriate age specific patient care as established for environment and job title.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or Masters Degree


• Registered Dietitian through the Commission of Dietetic Registration

Preferred Qualifications:

• One of the following specialty certifications preferred Certified Nutrition Support Clinician CNSC, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist CDCES Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition CSR, Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition CSO, Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition CSG
