Job Description

Compensation Range: $73,000 - 78,500 per year. Compensation will be dependent upon education and experience. This position will work full time, Monday through Friday.

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for overseeing the Dietary component in tandem with the Center For Discovery Clinical Model.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with each patient on a weekly basis to implement and manage individualized dietary meal plans including conducting weekly calorie counts
• Conduct Dietary Intake on admit
• Complete documentation on each client’s progress throughout the treatment experience, making sure that daily progress notes reflect the goals within the treatment plan
• Facilitate Nutrition Groups appropriate for adult and adolescent age groups
• Support patients during meals and snacks, as assigned on the schedule, to promote exposures, using skills and modeling during meals/snacks
• Implement one dietary treatment plan for each client within a week of admission
• Communicate with referring and outpatient treatment teams throughout the patient's treatment episode
• Oversee Diet-technicians to encourage supportive mealtimes and monitor supplementation
• Collaborate with the Director of Dietary Services and the treatment team to ensure high standards of nutrition and dietary services
• Enforce dietary programs and advise clients on food choices
• Understand medical consequences of eating disorders, hazards of re-feeding, and how to avoid complications
• Implement dietary exchange patterns based on portion size and caloric recommendations
• Facilitate family sessions, family days, and educational events, including therapeutic meals as appropriate
• Communicate with medical doctors and psychiatrists regarding medical issues requiring dietary intervention
• Remain accessible to families, including weekly communication with parents of adolescents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited US university, with coursework approved by ACEND, and RD credential required
• Licensed registered dietitian strongly preferred (for dietetic interns, RD eligibility and upcoming exam required)
• Two years’ experience in dietary education and management preferred
• Eating disorder experience preferred
• Ability to obtain a food handler's permit or Serve Safe Certification
